Homeowners brace for a jackhammer and a guess. That's not how it goes. Every Escondido slab leak runs through the same six-step electronic process, starting at the water meter and ending on one specific answer, hot line or cold, with a clear spot-repair-or-reroute call.

We don't listen through the floor, we listen through the piping, at exposed shutoffs, the heater, and reachable runs. Concrete only muffles a slab leak. The point isn't an X on the tile, it's knowing which line failed so we can decide to bypass it or repair a reachable spot.
Confirm with pressure
A gauge on a hose bib, the main closed, and we watch. A steady pressure drop confirms an active slab leak on its own, apart from the acoustics, and hints at how fast the line is losing.
Thermal when it earns it
For a hot-side leak under tile or wood, a thermal scan is a helpful second opinion. We use it to back up what we're already hearing, not as a routine step. Most slab leaks never need it.

What's the difference between a spot repair and a reroute?
Spot repair is only on the table when the leak isn’t in the slab, when it’s at a reachable shutoff, a heater connection, or inside an accessible wall. The moment it’s under the concrete, it’s a reroute. We won’t saw the slab, since one patch tends to invite the next failure and the demolition can jar nearby pipe loose.
My home is in a newer Escondido tract. Is it on a post-tension slab?
A lot of the newer developments are built on post-tension foundations, and honestly it changes nothing about our approach. Those slabs should never be cut, and we don’t cut conventional ones either. Either way the fix is an overhead reroute, so we don’t have to know the foundation type to keep your floor intact.
