Thermal, only if it helps
On a hot-side leak beneath tile or wood, a thermal pass can second what we're hearing. We use it to confirm, not as a box ticked on every job. Most slab leaks never call for one.

Opening the slab to fix one length of tired copper leaves the rest of the run untouched and still failing. The next leak usually lands on that same line, and the digging can knock loose pipe nearby.
Reroute the failing line overhead

A spot repair fits only when the leak sits outside the slab, at a shutoff you can reach, a heater connection, or an open wall. Under the concrete, it’s a reroute every time. We leave the slab whole, since patching one length tends to invite the next break and the digging can loosen pipe close by.
My home is a newer Huntington Beach build. Is it on a post-tension slab?
Plenty of the newer developments are, and it makes no difference to how we work. A post-tension slab must never be cut, and we don’t cut conventional ones either. The fix is an overhead reroute regardless, so we don’t need to know the foundation type to keep your floor whole.
